Reviewing reviews

First analysis of the review of reviews is about done. We reviewed 2 reviews and annotated for the species, subject, task, perceptual modus, functional attribution, recording method and brain area. This gives insight in how different data sets are integrated using the semantic similarity instead of data connectivity. These preliminary results will be post and uploaded to the website.

Obviously, we do not post any reviewed reviews using the reference of the reviewed review. We do not wish to target individual reviewers, but simply signal a trend in the cognitive sciences. Expect a report within the next week.

Results so far: Dependent on the perspective of the author, decision processes are defined using the expertise of the reviewer, being highly selective to a specific type of research and not integrating any other types. This means: data is not integrated based on their similarity, but based on the semantic and expert perspective. This means that data is currently scattered due to semantic confounds caused by the lack of integrating detailed similar data sets.
