Future Directions

The tool is currenlty in private beta and a trimmed verion of our planning is shown FYI. More details will follow with time...

Database and forms implementation: short-term.

Previous analysis using its guidelines and analyzing monkey data from single unit recordings showed Metaneva’s validity. It indicates semantic confounds, research bias and reveals a hint of the dynamic mapping. Since this is novel method within the cognitive sciences, we need to elaborate a method of mapping these dynamic neural networks. This is done by the detailed input and construction of our database structure. This structure is partly designed, and awaits a translation towards web based forms.

Exploration of Data Mining Algorithms: middle-long term.

Exploration of the data mining will be a time consuming task with most likely custom made algorithms using the open source data mining tool of Weka. We at least partly rely on the recommendations of the Weka team for this implemantation. This middle-long term represents the initiation towards a fully grown algorithmic analysis. Defining the queries and algorithms is our first step in this process.

Exploration of Translational Neuroscience (rat-monkey-human): long-term.

A final long term goal is the translational human into animal data (and vice versa). Currently an effort is done to map evolutionary information of human and rodent information. With the use of this tool as well as the tool developed by Brainmap, we have a potential source of comparison. We do not limit ourselves to any date since we predict large difficulties to map or even explore the possibility of this kind of high level translational neuroscience. We predict this on the basis of current issues regarding standard anatomical brain maps of rat, monkey and most definitely humans.
